Insomnia is common in people with PTSD but often goes untreated. Cognitive behavioural therapy is an effective treatment for insomnia but many clients are not offered or don’t have access to this intervention. This study recently published in the Journal of Affective Disorders assessed whether delivery of group treatment via telehealth video is as effective as in-person treatment for veterans with PTSD. The findings underline the importance of providing effective interventions to address insomnia among clients with PTSD (and other mental health issues) as well as the feasibility of doing this via telehealth.
