Moral injury refers to acts of commission or omission that violate an individual’s moral or ethical standards. Some researchers have suggested that trauma-focussed therapies may not be adequate for treating PTSD resulting from morally injurious events. This article in Cognitive and Behavioral Practice describes successful treatment of two US veterans with moral injury-based PTSD using well-established trauma-focussed therapies for PTSD.
