Identifying and addressing mental health issues among prisoners is of benefit to those incarcerated, those who work in these facilities, and for the wider community. This recent systematic review and meta-analysis published in the Journal of Traumatic Stress found that over 40% of incarcerated adults convicted of homicide met criteria for PTSD diagnosis after committing this offence.
