PTSD is known to have an impact on educational attainment. This population-based Swedish cohort study recently published in JAMA Network Open found that PTSD was associated with multiple indicators of educational attainment, including completion of secondary school and a university degree, after controlling for familial factors shared by full siblings, psychiatric comorbidity, and general cognitive ability. The findings underscore the need for early identification and effective treatment for those affected in educational settings.
