Conversion and dissociative disorders are conditions where people experience neurological symptoms or changes in identity or awareness; they are frequently associated with a psychological stressor or trauma and cannot be explained by a neurological or medical condition. This recent Cochrane systematic review found a lack of evidence for benefits of any psychological therapy or other psychosocial intervention for conversion and dissociative disorders in adults. With international research underway, hopefully this will not be the case for too much longer.
