Important trial just published in The Lancet Global Health that evaluated the effectiveness of a facilitator-guided, self-help intervention for South Sudanese women with high exposure to trauma living in a refugee settlement in Uganda. The intervention was delivered by non-specialist providers in workshops through audio recordings and an illustrated self-help book. Compared with those who received usual care, the intervention was linked with greater though diminishing improvements on mental health outcomes.
